I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car, I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big, dumb combat boots and the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick — It even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way you’re always right. I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh — Even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it when you’re not around. And the fact that you didn’t call.
But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you — Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.

Happy 32nd birthday, Hilarie Burton! (July 1, 1982)
I promise you, Haley. I will always be there for you, I will always protect you. I will always protect you. Always.
“Go where the opportunity is. A lot of people want to act or sing or make music, but until you fully commit to it and go where the opportunity is, you’re only putting half of your heart into it. You can get some experience acting wherever you are, but it you really want to pursue it you need to go to a bigger city like New York or Los Angeles.”
All of your flaws and all of my flaws
Are laid out one by one
Look at the wonderful mess that we made
We pick ourselves undone
Wake you up in the middle of the night to say I will never walk away again, I’m never gonna leave this bed.
One Tree Hill + family tree
And you are not alone in this. As brothers we will stand and we’ll hold your hand.
Tree Hill is just a place somewhere in the world. Maybe it’s a lot like your world, maybe it’s nothing like it. But if you look closer, you might see someone like you. Someone trying to find their way. Someone trying to find their place. Someone trying to find their self. Sometimes it seems like you are the only one in the world who’s struggling, who’s frustrated, or unsatisfied, or barely getting by. But that feeling’s a lie. And if you just hold on, just find the courage to face it all for another day, someone or something will find you and make it all okay. Because we all need a little help sometimes. Someone to help us hear the music in the world, to remind us that it won’t always be this way. That someone is out there. And that someone will find you.
